Pier Alfeo

Pier Alfeo (born in 1985) is a sound artist and electronic music composer. His works range from electronic music pieces to immersive audio-visual performances, sound sculptures and visual pieces. After living in many cities all over Italy, he moved to Berlin where he gained considerable renown as an artist working for many labels, organizing events and performing in international festivals where he shared the stage with artists the calibre of Robert Henke, Fennesz, Rashad Becker and many more. In 2019 he presented his first exhibition Incisione su Silenzio in Galleria Doppelgaenger in Bari with a critical essay by Valentino Catricalà. At the end of 2019, the same piece won him the highest recognition at the "Premio Nazionale delle Arti" (Italy’s national prize for arts) for electronic arts. In that instance, Alfeo was valued by a commission composed of Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev, Beatrice Merz, Sergio Toffetti, Irene Dionisio and Piero Gilardi. The piece was exhibited in Turin’s Accademia Albertina during the FISAD 2019 (an international art school and design festival). In 2020 he participated in the Blooming Festival hosted by Federica Patti and Quiet Ensemble in Pergola, as well as the exhibition Rilevamenti 2 curated by Valentino Catricalà at CAMUSAC (the Contemporary Art Museum in Cassino)
